Wedding ASIA 2007
As the wedding season begins Excelsior Wedding Asia 2007 kicks off in Indian capital New Delhi. Designers from across India are participating in the second edition of Wedding Asia 2007. These designers will showcase their exclusive range of bridal trousseau, bridal jewellery, shoes, handbags and everything else which is required for the wedding including home decors. Thousands of people are thronging Hotel Park Plaza, the venue of the three day event, which started on December 14. Apart from some established designers some new designers also got the chance to take part in the event. Apart from the usual red, maroon, pink and cream lot of designs in pastels and olive green have also been showcased this season in the event. Rich fabric like silk and satin in addition to net and chiffon has been used in most of the designs. The traditional Indian evergreen zari, gold and silver thread work was used by most of the designers in their designs. In case of jewellery apart from gold jewellery in tradition and modern designs, diamond jewellery was also attracting the attention of the visitors. But what was lauded most by the people is the precious stones and gems jewellery which is getting popular not only in India but also across the world these days. Apart from jewellery and apparel designers also showcased their shoes and handbags in the event. However, most of the bags and shoes have been designed only for the brides or for the occasions like wedding as they all are glittery and shiny which can not be used daily.
