Paris to honour Valentino
The French government has decided to honour the legend and arguably the best fashion designer in the industry at the moment, Valentino. Valentino, who has announced his retirement from the fashion world after spending almost 45 years in the industry, has been showing his splendid collections since 1989 in Paris. The French government is honouring the legend by making him the honorary citizen of Paris. Valentino will be honoured at a special ceremony during the haute couture season of shows later this month. Mayor of Paris Bertrand Delanoe will give away the award to Valentino at the Nineteenth Century city hall in Paris. Although this is not the first award for Valentino from the French Government as the king of fashion industry has also been awarded the Legion d’Honneur by the French Government in July 2006. Valentino obviously is happy with the news. Valentino is scheduled to show his last Haute Coutre collection in January in Paris. Valentino is popular between the fashion critique and enthusiasts because of his beautiful designs. Valentino never did any weird experiments with his designs. His motto has always been to make beautiful clothes which he did with dedication. Hollywood actress and celebrities mostly choose to wear a Valentino to important award ceremonies like Oscars and play it safe instead of experimenting with the new designers. Julia Roberts also wore a Valentino when she received an Oscar for best actress in 2001. It seems for Hollywood Fashion industry means Valentino; he even made a very small appearance in a recent fashion centric movie Devil Wears Prada. What will fashion industry do with out Valentino?
