new york fashion week ends in styleMarc Jacobs ended the very impressive Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week, with a not so impressive show on February 8th. In an attempt of being “different”, Marc did not use feathers or tweed in his collection, which was used by almost all the designers showing at the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week.  It seems that Marc worked more on the stage then on the designs.
But let’s talk about other designers, who were really impressive at the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week.  Zac Posen had a good show this time, as some of his dresses were really gorgeous. Embroidered coat, beaded tuxedo and school boy and school girl suits were liked by the audiences. Zac Posen also presented some pretty gowns, but the feathered caps were more notable.  Sean John’s label Combs’, made a comeback in to the New York Fashion Week with a runway show. Sean John’s Combs’ celebrated its tenth anniversary with the show. His collection comprises of sweaters with sequins, suits and jackets with exposed zipper details. He also used purple in some of his designs, but not feathers. Cynthia Rowley’s collection was inspired by Victorian times, as it comprises of loose and flowing dresses.  Some of the dresses were quite wearable. Ralph Lauren’s collection was also very exciting with high neck cocktail dresses and cowl neck gowns. He used combinations like red-black, green-black and purple-black, which are all time hits. Tommy Hilfiger presented some wearable sexy jersey tops and wool trousers.
