Eco friendly New York fashion week
The big wigs in the fashion industry are waking up to global warming and pollution and you will get its proof in the New York Fashion Week. Designers like Versace, Marc Jacobs, Jill Sander and Narciso Rodriguez are all set to join Stella McCartney in her go-green drive. All these designers will take part in the Earth Pledge’s Future Fashion runway show on January 31 at Gotham Hall. The designers will showcase their designs which are made of recyclable, sustainable and earth-friendly materials.
The aim of the show is to promote use of renewable, recyclable and non–polluting material. The show will be sponsored by Barneys, Lexus Hybrid Living and Pure and Natural among others. The Future Fashion collection can be viewed at the store windows of Barneys’ in Madison Avenue. The collection will be showcased there for three weeks starting from February 1. However, this is not the first time that this type of event is being organised at the New York Fashion Week. But surely big names of the fashion industry are participating in this event for the first time. The event shows that the fashion industry is waking up to the fact that they will have to change themselves as more and more people are getting aware about the environment pollution. The rapid increase in demand of the organic cotton is one proof of this. Although this is just a beginning and Fashion industry will have to do a lot more if they really want to make a difference.
