defying age fall fashion week

The best way to know what’s ‘in’ and what’s ‘out’ every season is to check out the Fall Fashion Week that commence in the last quarter of 2009. With Christmas and New Year being the target, autumn collections focus on party wears. This year, the fall fashion week has been diverse in its presentation. Designers are not only focussing on the young but also the not-so-young. It seems a good idea because that’s where really the money comes from! In the fashion capitals of the world, one could see models, strutting the ramp with the designer stuff targeting the not-so young crowd, comfortable with their ages. They have the power and can flaunt their fashion statement.
The Fall fashion week commenced in London, the British capital going retro… 25 years ago what people were wearing. Designers like Ossie Clark, Vivienne Westwood, Peter Pilotto, Paul Smith, Aquascutum started the trend with designs of the yore. This is the glimpse into the coming shows that would impact what stores would stocks for the customers for coming months. Moving across the Dover port, towards Paris, the grand city of lights, designers presented more contemporary designs. Here the designers chose to stick to the futuristic trends of the 21st century. Givenchy, Karl Lagerfeld, Bernhard Weilham, Gaspard Yurkievich and Masion Martin Margeila ensured the audience went bananas with models wearing the fruity head gear! Across the Atlantic, in New York, new fabrics graced the runaways with Narciso Rodriguez,Oscar de la Renta and Michael Kors shows.
