Brazil Fashion Week
Sao Paulo Fashion Week, Latin America’s biggest fashion even, commenced on Wednesday (January16). It seems black was the favourite colour of the designers, participating in the Sao Paulo fashion week, this year.
Cori, one of the famous fashion designers and very popular name in Brazil, used black in most of his designs. His show targeted Brazilian working class women, who like to dress up for office. Black jackets, structured tops, skirts and pants, which finish above the navel, are expected to become an instant hit with the Brazilian working women. Working women will surely love those wide belts, shoes and gold earrings. A very special gold-chain dress by Cori was appreciated most by the audiences. This was Cori’s first show for Dudu Bertholini and Rita Comparato, who are already popular in Brazil. There other collection Neon is very popular in Brazil, but some say that both the collections are somewhat alike. Another Brazilian designer Fause Haten, who is of Lebanese descent, presented his collection, in style, on Wednesday. His show was different, as he showed two models at a time on the catwalk, one in colourful attire and one in a much darker version of the same design. His idea was loved more by the audiences than his designs. However, the shoes designed by him were fabulous. Over 10, 000 people attended the shows, presented by 40 designers, during the Sao Paulo fashion week. However, racism row casted shadow, over the otherwise fabulous, Sao Paulo fashion week.
